All services, consultations, mood boards, digital products, and recommendations are advisory in nature and are not a substitute for licensed design, architectural, engineering, contracting, or construction services. Lavender River does not guarantee specific outcomes, results, or appearances.
Design vision, not the labor
Lavender River's role on every project is to develop and communicate the design vision — layout, palette, materials, finishes, fixtures, sourcing direction, and intentional design details — and to convey the design scope to the trades involved. Lavender River does not perform any physical work. Construction, demolition, framing, drywall, painting, plumbing, electrical, cabinetry, countertop fabrication and installation, tile, flooring, lighting installation, hardware installation, millwork, finish carpentry, and any other trade or installation work is performed by independent, licensed, insured contractors, tradespeople, fabricators, and installers ("Trades") who are hired, scheduled, supervised on site, and paid directly by the client. The Trades are responsible for their own licensure, insurance, bonding, work quality, code compliance, schedule, warranty, lien rights, and conduct on site. Lavender River is not the client's contractor, general contractor, owner's representative, or construction manager, and the completion of any project shown in Lavender River's portfolio reflects the client's chosen Trades executing a design vision provided by Lavender River.
Client responsibility
Final decisions, measurements, purchases, contractor selection and coordination, scheduling, installation, and implementation are solely the client's responsibility. The client is responsible for verifying all measurements, product availability, lead times, building code compliance, and suitability of recommended materials, paint, finishes, and fixtures for their specific space and use case.
Color, finish, and material variation
Colors, finishes, fixtures, materials, and product appearance may vary based on lighting conditions, undertones, screen calibration, paint sheen, on-site environmental factors, natural product variation, manufacturer changes, supplier substitutions, and contractor or installer interpretation. Lavender River strongly recommends that all clients test paint samples, request finish samples, and confirm product details directly with vendors before purchase or installation.
No professional licensure claim
Lavender River is not a licensed interior designer, architect, engineer, or contractor unless otherwise expressly stated. Guidance provided does not constitute professional design, architectural, engineering, or construction advice. For projects involving structural changes, electrical work, plumbing, or permits, the client must engage appropriately licensed professionals.
Third-party links and products
Lavender River may reference, link to, or recommend third-party products, retailers, or service providers. Lavender River is not responsible for the quality, availability, pricing, or performance of any third-party products or services and receives no warranty obligations from such references.
Contractor and vendor referrals — recommendation only, no agency
Any contractor, tradesperson, vendor, fabricator, painter, installer, or other service provider that Lavender River names, recommends, or introduces does not work for Lavender River and is not an employee, agent, partner, subcontractor, or representative of Lavender River. Lavender River is only making a recommendation. If the client chooses to engage that provider, the client does so on the client's own accord and at the client's sole risk.
The client and the provider must enter into their own separate written contract with each other, fully independent of any agreement the client has with Lavender River. That separate contract should cover pricing, scope of work, materials, payment terms, deposits, change orders, schedule, warranty, lien rights, completion criteria, and performance, and is solely between the client and that provider. The client and the provider are responsible for working out any cost discrepancies, billing disputes, scope disagreements, change orders, schedule conflicts, unfinished work, punch-list items, quality concerns, or other disputes directly between themselves. Lavender River is not a party to that contract, does not negotiate on the client's behalf, does not approve estimates or invoices, does not coordinate, supervise, or schedule the work, and has no authority over the provider's pricing, payment, conduct, or work product.
The client is responsible for independently verifying licensure, insurance, bonding, references, and written estimates before any work begins, and for signing a written contract directly with the provider. By engaging a recommended provider, the client acknowledges that they are entering into that contract on their own and that the decision is solely their own, and the client releases Lavender River from any claim, demand, or liability arising out of that provider's pricing, performance, conduct, work quality, scheduling, payment disputes, unfinished work, or any other aspect of the client–provider relationship.
Project oversight is a separate service
Project oversight, contractor coordination, site supervision, and procurement are not included in any consultation or advisory service. Lavender River provides project oversight only under a separate, written Project Oversight Agreement signed by both parties for a separately agreed fee. Without such an agreement in place, Lavender River's role is strictly advisory.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lavender River shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or in connection with services provided, recommendations made, products sold, or content published. The client's sole remedy for any dispute is limited to the fees paid for the specific service in question.
